About SpecTacular

SpecTacular is the vision and creation of Edwin Edelenbos. It exists because document heavy businesses deserve documentation systems that actually work, not folders full of Word files and good intentions.

The person behind it

Edwin has spent nearly two decades designing and delivering AV/IT, lighting, and control systems for superyachts. His career spans hands-on project management at Van Berge Henegouwen, innovation leadership at Oceanco, and project lead roles on Feadship newbuilds.

Beyond his time with integrators and shipyards, Edwin has also worked directly on owner's teams, representing owner interests on both refit and newbuild projects. That gives him first-hand understanding of what owners actually need from their technical advisors.

He specialises in system architecture, technical analysis, and translating complex requirements into solutions that actually work. His engineering background (MSc from TU Delft) combined with real project experience means he can work across disciplines, from design teams to shipyards to owners' representatives.

Why SpecTacular exists

After years of working on projects where documentation accuracy directly affects safety, cost, and delivery, Edwin saw the same problems repeated time and time again. Outdated specifications getting reused, inconsistent revisions, no audit trail, and teams burning precious hours searching for the right version of a document.

SpecTacular was built to fix that. It takes the principles of version control and modular design that software engineers take for granted and applies them to the documentation workflows that engineering, construction, maritime, and infrastructure teams depend on every day.
